Jack Babcock
Jack’s artistic vision resonates with all people. He has spent more than 30 years developing his distinct style to capture realistic scenes of Mt. Rainier, barns and landscapes throughout the Cascade Region while living in Auburn, Washington. Jack uses a limited color palette in his paintings. The result is a warm, earthy feel that can be recognized instantly. Jack has studied under some of the region’s great artists, but his ability to transform an ordinary glass ornament into a piece of art is not only self-taught but unmatched by area artists. His talents have not gone unnoticed. He has been featured in galleries throughout the area and has participated in some of the top Western Art Shows in the country.
Judy Fairley
Judy Fairley grew up in Clarkston, Washington, where she and her twin sister helped on the families’ quarter horse ranch on the Snake River. She began drawing and studying the movement and muscle groupings of the horses and cattle around her. After college, she began taking art classes through the local college. She has taught pastel and color scratchboard at Walla Walla Community College, and been a member and northwest director of Women Artist of the West for over 20 years. She also has over 20 years affiliation with the Valley Arts Center, and over 15 years with the Snake River Showcase. Judy is also the Celebration of Western Art Show’s Best of Show winner with her color scratchboard in other media three years running.. Judy and her high school sweetheart, now married for over 30 years, still reside in Clarkston. Judy enjoys singing in the church choir, as well as snooping out any good sales at the local mall.
JR Hawse
Janet Hawse, a US Navy veteran, resides in Bothell, WA and specializes in wildlife and animal portraiture as well as landscape paintings. Her work has been in numerous exhibitions, won awards, and is included in private collections here and internationally. JR Hawse is a graduate of the University of Washington and a long-time member of the Portrait Society of America, Seattle Co-Arts, and Gallery North.
“Inspiration comes to me from many places, but the idea of telling a story with a painting is the most alluring part of creating for me. I enjoy bringing together elements that speak to the viewer, invite them to enter into the story and explore.”
Janet also is a lampwork hot glass artist and jewelry designer. She creates a variety of unique jewelry pieces using glass beads she creates with her torch as well as gemstones and precious metals.
Ken Hurley
Ken has created over 1000 paintings and won numerous awards and honors throughout his career: …Such as the coveted Lancaster Award from the Ellensburg National Art Show in 2002, the “Producers Award” from the Spokane Western and Wildlife Show in 2006, the once in a lifetime award, “King of the Cowboys”, presented from the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage and Art Center in 2014, and “The Boyd Zepp Humanitarian Award” honoring all the art he has produced over the years for the Grays Harbor Indoor Rodeo. With published books of his art, paintings, book covers, poster art and more, today, Ken is an internationally acclaimed artist recognized world wide.
Ian Ricker
This Award Winning Artist has a special gift, working primarily in Oil for the past few years, Ian has an incredible eye for detail. Ian’s love of art, from pencil to sculpture, has led him to teach both young and old for over 20 years. Primarily self-taught, Ian studied for three years at the University of Alaska at Anchorage and is a member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. He now resides in Chehalis, WA with his artist wife, Jennie Truitt.
