Continuing Adult Education (ages 18+)
Classes meet once a week and are scheduled by the month. Mid-month enrollment will be pro-rated. Cost of class is $12.50 for 2-hour classes. Supplies will vary. Online registration closes 30 minutes prior to the start of class.
Basic Art Skills and Beyond
Aletha Deuel – 2 hr class / Mondays 6-8pm
This class focuses on drawing, watercolor and oils and is directed by student interest. Bring your own supplies.
Please register online to secure a spot in the class. Click “Register Now” then the “Book” button, and fill out your information. The last step will prompt you to pay. If you have previously registered for a class, you will be able to sign in and go straight to the payment section
Online registration closes 30 minutes prior to the start of class. Call 253-752-9708 to see if there are still spots available. If so, please arrive early and you will be able to pay in person prior to class starting.
We are a nonprofit organization and in order to keep our tuition rates low we are sorry but we are unable to offer refunds.

Can I register for a session after it has started?
Yes, you can register after a session has started. The session cost will be pro-rated based on the remaining art classes. Cost per class is $12.50 per class and does not include art supplies.

What should I wear to class?
Please dress according to the weather, but make sure you wear something that could get dirty. Even adults can get paint on their clothes.
What if I miss a class?
As we still have to pay the teacher and other bills, you will be charged unless you make prior arrangements.
Do I need supplies?
Yes, adult supplies are not included in the cost of tuition. Please ask the teacher what supplies are required.
Where do I park?
There is street parking along 9th Ave SW between Fairview Drive and S. Meridian. You can also park along 4th St SW or the green grass lot across from the red gate at the intersection of 4th St SW and 9th Ave SW.
Where is the entrance to the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage and Art Center?
We are located inside the Red Gate of the WA State Fairgrounds — 9th Ave SW between Fairview Drive and S. Meridian. To the left of the red-roofed ticket counters — look for a big blue hanging sign that says “Fred’s Creative Kids Art Classes.” You will enter through a black iron gate and then into the building on the left through the brown door.
