Adult Workshops Coming Up in 2017!
“3 Day Color Workshop”
An introduction to color, Taught by Nationally Noted Maritime and Western Artist, Paul Daneker
9am – 4pm, May 26-28, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Probably for the first time in your artistic life, you’re going to clearly and simply hear all about color; then, you’re going to turn all that information into techniques you will use every time you pick up a brush. You’ll know the three properties every color has and every way you can modify those characteristics to suit your needs. You’ll mix color, control color and command its use – you’ll use color as a vital tool in the creation of your artwork. All lessons are reinforced the old fashioned way – by getting your brushes dirty and smearing the marvelous stuff all over canvas and paper.
All color mediums – Watercolors, oils, acrylics – color is color, but I strongly urge students use other than watercolors to learn about color simply because it is the medium that will keep you from focusing purely on color. Once you’ve learned color, the lessons are 100% transferrable to watercolor (or pastels, or colored pencil or . . . ) (I teach using oils)
